CARING FOR YOUR BAG
Our vegetable-tanned leather bags develop a beautiful patina over time if properly maintained. To preserve their shine, we recommend regular care every 3 to 6 months (depending on use) with a soft cloth and the application of leather milk. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and humidity to ensure exceptional longevity. Smaller scratches can be buffed-out with natural leather wax.
In-order to prolong the life of your bag, we ask you to observe the below care instructions.
Avoid moisture contact: Our leathers are not covered in plastic, like the vast majority of chrome leather products out there. So, we ask you to avoid wearing your bag in instances where you may incur heavy rain or general water splashing...although we understand that this is sometimes unavoidable!
Avoid direct sunlight: All of our bags come with a cotton dust bag. We recommend for you to place the bag inside this bag when not in use, to avoid direct sunlight, dust and scratching.
Stuff Them: In order to help maintain the shape of your bag, you could stuff your bag tightly with paper, when you are not likely to use your bag for a while, or it is to be packed-away. Vegetable-tanned leather tends to have more ‘memory’ than plastic chrome leather, and can be damaged when squashed.
We use a lot of natural vegetable-tanned leather for our bags. This light-tan colour leather is un-dyed, and therefore exhibits the natural colour tone. It’s important to note that the colour of natural vegetable tanned leather will darken over time. This is due to UV rays from the sun. This is an unavoidable, but beautifully unique attribute of this leather.
